Singles Only For Success

When I first started betting on football I would walk around town collecting betting slips from the local bookies.
At that time bookmakers wouldn't accept singles. It was a minimum of 5 home wins or 3 away wins. With the introduction of online betting we can now place single bets on almost any match worldwide.

This is brilliant for punters and it amazes me how many people still do doubles, trebles and accumulators. The reason is punters get greedy. The idea of a 6/4 winner doesn't excite them, a 100/1 accumulator does.
Every additional match or player you add to a bet gives the bookmaker more of an edge because you are losing value in the price.
It's why bookmakers are keen to promote when a punter lands a huge accumulator and big payout. If you add up all the accumulator bets across the country each weekend it must be a fortune.
Stick to singles and make sure you get the best price on every bet. Build up your profit slowly and by the end of the year your profit might reach the amount you dream of winning each weekend from your speculative accumulator.
The only time I would recommend a double is when you can get the best odds on both selections with the same bookmaker. That way you are still getting the best price and some value.
